Rocky
Mountain Miniatures' History
Rocky Mountain
Miniatures came into existence in 1997. Basically, it is all Kendra's
fault. She slowly drew us into the world of minis and we haven't
been able to find our way back out. Not that we want to, either.
We
had recently moved from our home in the city to a four acre parcel
just outside of the city, and our children
Jennifer and Scott had to attend
Cochrane High School, where Jennifer became friends with Kendra, and
all the insanity (and fun!) began.
We had owned two large horses since 1995, but we attended our
first Circle J Ranch
sale in May of 1997, and a few days afterwards, returned to
purchase an older mare who was supposed to mow our lawn for us.
She was followed about a month later by a mare and foal. After
that, it was pretty much history - we were officially hooked on
the miniature horse breed.
Within a short time, we were rapidly running out of room on our
four
acres. We purchased more land
just south of Okotoks and moved everything.
Since then, we've also forayed into African Dorper Sheep,
CKC
registered Chihuahuas, layer chickens and our newest venture is
making clothing for tiny dogs. Stay tuned as we continue to grow!
